Judges 17:8-10

⁸ The man went from the city of Bethlehem in Judah to stay wherever he could find a place. He came to the hill country of Ephraim, to the house of Micah, to do his work.

⁹ Micah said to him, “Where do you come from?”

He said to him, “I am a Levite from Bethlehem in Judah, and I am going to stay wherever I can find a place.”

¹⁰ Micah said to him, “Live with me, and be a father and a priest for me. I will give you ten silver coins^[a] a year, a set of clothes, and food.” So the Levite went in.
